There's also team updates, sector news, and more to read in our last newsletter of 2024!
Programme update
As a publicly funded program, we believe in transparency and accountability. Each year, we publish an impact report to showcase our work, achievements, and how our funding is used.

This year's report highlights the significant impact our sector has on museums and their local communities right across the South West.

Project update
The Growing Together team has been hard at work this autumn, recruiting a diverse group of museums, Champions, and a Steering Group to the project.

Cohort Members will participate in a comprehensive training program to improve accessibility and relevance within their museum. They will receive grants to launch innovative projects that break down barriers for their audiences with guidance from expert mentors.

The Steering Group brings valuable lived experience perspectives to the project, ensuring that the work is focused and impactful.

Champions are dedicated museum professionals and volunteers who are passionate about inclusion. They will embark on personal learning journeys, share best practices with peers, and champion inclusive approaches within the sector through upcoming peer networking sessions.
Stay tuned for exciting opportunities to get involved in the project through peer networks in the new year!

Team update
Today we are welcoming Jenni Orme (image left) into the new position of Senior Museum Development Programme Officer! This post is an adaptation of the Project and Programme Officer role and reflects changes in the Museum Development programme by Arts Council England.

Jenni has been with Museum Development South West as our Gloucestershire Museum Development Officer for over three years, although many museums in the South West area will have had contact with Jenni in her capacity as our grants lead.

Caroline Lyall (image right) is also joining us today as our Museum Support Officer, and will be on hand to assist with grants processing and internal business support.
Accreditation update
Congratulations to all museums in the South West who have achieved Accreditation over this past year! It's time to celebrate our last Accreditation successes for 2024. Well done to:
