Bristol Temple Quarter Newsletter - April 2025

Lyn Garner, new chair of Bristol Temple Quarter stood smiling in front of some trees

An introduction from Lyn Garner

Hello, and welcome to Bristol Temple Quarter's April newsletter.

I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new independent Chair of Bristol Temple Quarter LLP.

Over the past 25 years, I’ve led major housing and regeneration programmes across London, and most recently the successful delivery of the UK’s Olympic and Paralympic legacy project.

As Chair, my role is to champion Bristol Temple Quarter, drive delivery, and help shape its next chapter. I’ll be working closely with partners, government, and local stakeholders to make sure that the project reaches its full potential.

I firmly believe that Temple Quarter has the power to unlock significant investment and economic growth—not just for Bristol, but for the wider region, and I am excited to get started.

Harbour Walkway construction underway

The first pontoons that will form part of the new Harbour Walkway have arrived in Bristol, marking an exciting milestone for connectivity in and around Bristol Temple Quarter.

The walkway will provide a continuous and traffic free pedestrian and cycling route along the harbour, and a route from Temple Quay to the University of Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.

The search for a Private Sector Partner has begun

In February, we started the search for a Private Sector Partner (PSP) who shares our vision for the transformation of the Temple Quarter area to deliver 10,000 new homes, create over 22,000 jobs and generate a £1.6bn boost to the regional economy.

The PSP will initially work with us to deliver housing, commercial space, and public spaces around Bristol Temple Meads Station, as well as working to develop detailed proposals for new homes and jobs at St. Philip's Marsh.

Working with Screenology to share our vision

Earlier this year, we worked with students from Screenology to produce a film on Bristol Temple Quarter. The film explores the ambitions of the regeneration programme’s partners and shares their vision for the future of the area.

Screenology is a production company and film school on Silverthorne Lane, in the heart of Temple Quarter. Their hands-on approach gives students first-hand filmmaking experience by working on live, paid projects such as this one.
