IFB exhibiting at IPBES-12

IFB Leaders and researchers will be present and involved at IPBES 12 in Manchester this week. We are exhibiting on Tuesday 3rd at  the UK Government's Science Showcase Evening Reception, and on Wednesday 4th at the Aviva-hosted Business and Finance Day at which IFB Flagship Leader, Professor Nicola Ranger, is a speaker.

ADDITIONAL NERC FUNDING FOR IFB
Influence the research agenda for nature finance

In response to additional funding from NERC, IFB will host a 3-day workshop to develop a future research agenda for nature finance. The event will be held at UKCEH Wallingford, 10-12th March. Please register your interest if you would like to attend.

IFB Leader to host Civil Society Forum

IFB Flagship Leader, Professor Paul Brereton, will host a Civil Society Forum on Nature Finance on 18-19 March 2026 at Riddle Hall, Queen's University Belfast. Speakers include: Wildlife cinematographer and film maker, Justine Evans; Dr Neil Reid, Queen's University Belfast; Professor Nicola Ranger, London School of Economics.

IFB Leader, Julia McCarthy, is organising a webinar on the 20th February at 3pm. Deep dive: tracking US nature market credit sales and project information will provide perspectives from the US stream and wetland compliance markets, where the federal permitting agencies have maintained an online registry and repository for compensatory mitigation projects for nearly two decades.

IFB Partner launches Nature + Innovation Accelerator for nature-positive businesses

IFB Partner, Middlesex University, has launched the Nature + Innovation Accelerator (N+IA), a new programme designed to support companies to become nature positive, and to develop profitable business models leveraging environmental innovations.

The Accelerator is driven by Professor Robyn Owen, Dr Amy Burnett, and IFB Knowledge Exchange Fellow, Dougal Fleming who also co-facilitates the programme.

Integrating Finance and Biodiversity for a Nature Positive Future is a £7 million programme co-led by NERC and Innovate UK to develop the solutions needed to embed the values of biodiversity in financial decision making. This investment will build a national multi-stakeholder community that can drive the development of knowledge, tools and skills to incorporate biodiversity-related risks and opportunities into planning, reporting and investment decisions for the finance and business sectors.
