Welcome to this month’s Family Hubs newsletter, and thank you for all you do to support children, young people and families in Bristol. This edition includes key updates, opportunities and events to help you stay connected and work well together. Thank you to everyone who joined our Alliance meetings earlier this year. Your insight helps us build stronger links across services, expand shared training and act on what families tell us. Our ultimate goal is for every child and family to thrive. Bristol Impact Fund small grants open
Bristol City Council’s Bristol Impact Fund small grants open 24 March 2026 at 12pm and close 28 April 2026 at 12pm. Smaller and emerging community organisations can apply for £2,500 to £11,000 per year for projects running September 2026 to August 2028.
Priority will be given to resident-led work that supports one of the following groups:
- 20% most deprived areas - LGBTQIA+ - Gypsy, Roma and Traveller - People 18 to 25 years-old

Free parenting groups
Family Hubs offers free parenting groups across Bristol. Anyone who is pregnant, or a parent or carer of a child aged 0 to 8, can attend. Sessions build confidence and practical skills, with a focus on children’s emotional health, attachment, resilience and the importance of play.
One parent who attended the sessions said: “The material you learn is invaluable […] The impact it’s had on my relationship with my children is astounding.”

Bristol Young Futures Hub launch
We’re celebrating the official opening of the Bristol – East Central Young Futures Hub.
Join families, youth workers, schools and community partners for an evening of youth‑led celebration and creative activities. There will be free food, refreshments, gifts and giveaways.
The hub is a welcoming place for 10 to 25 year-olds. It brings together youth support, wellbeing, education and jobs advice in one place. The team works with local places like schools and community centres across East Central Bristol.
The event takes place on Wednesday 1 April 2026, 5pm to 8pm, at The Docklands Community Centre, St Pauls, BS2 8UA.

Help families access free Easter activities with Your Holiday Hub
Children and young people in Bristol who receive benefits‑related free school meals can book fully funded holiday activity sessions 6–17 April. Each day includes a healthy meal. Options range from sport and crafts to drama and baking.
Please share with eligible families and your networks – booking is essential.

Parents and carers across Bristol have received their primary and secondary school offers. 97% of children received a place at one of their preferred schools.

Independent travel training for young people
Free one‑to‑one training helps eligible 11 to 25‑year‑olds with SEND travel independently to school or college. It covers route planning, road and personal safety, using a bus pass and what to do in an emergency. Sessions run in term time and holidays.

Join the Bristol Youth Voice NetworkMembers empower 8 to 25‑year‑olds to shape services, influence decisions and participate in civic life. Through shared insight, joint projects and co‑production, the network strengthens impact and partnerships. It also uses digital innovation and creative engagement. Complete the form to join

EPIC grants for care experienced young people
EPIC supports Bristol’s 1,700+ care‑experienced children and young people to access the opportunities that help them thrive. The charity offers one‑off grants of up to £500. Funding can support activities that build confidence, independence and belonging, such as sport, music, creative hobbies or driving lessons.
Founded in 2021 by care experienced people, EPIC has awarded 84 grants so far.

Lead the Change: apply for a Bristol youth leadership grant
Quartet Community Foundation will award one Bristol grant of £123,353. The project must support young people most impacted by xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia. The funded work will build belonging, community connections, leadership and digital literacy. Apply 1 to 29 April 2026. Read the guidance.

Have your say on public health nursing in Bristol
The team what’s your views on the future of the Public Health Nursing service, which includes Health Visiting and School Nursing. The proposal is for Bristol City Council to commission and manage the service directly to offer more tailored support and stronger links with children’s services.
