Hello,

Welcome to your July St Jude’s Refurbishment Programme newsletter.

Each month we will be sending you an update on the project to let you know what progress has been made and what’s coming up over the next few weeks.
St Jude's blocks

What's happening next?

From tomorrow, Tuesday 22 July, scaffolding will be installed on Haviland House.

This will allow us to carry out detailed surveys of walkways, balconies, and the exterior envelope of the buildings.

Please note that works will be taking place Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm each week, which might mean some noise disturbance, particularly if you live in Haviland House.

If you live in Haviland House your balcony will be locked off for health and safety reasons while the scaffolding is being erected and surveys are being completed.  We will let you know when you will be able to use your balcony again.

To ensure that the survey can be carried out safely and efficiently, we kindly ask that residents remove any items from their balconies before work begins. Please note that any items left on balconies will be removed and held by the council for a period of four weeks before being disposed of. We will send reminder letter to all residents of this the week before we start our survey.

Scaffolding has already been added to sections of John Cozens and Haviland, with additional installations planned for these buildings as well as Langton House and Charleton House over the next three months.

We apologise for any inconvenience the survey works may cause and thank you for your patience while we work to improve your homes.

Do you have a satellite dish or TV aerial?

A reminder that your tenancy agreement does not allow you to have any dishes fitted to the blocks, and these must be removed for the works to progress.

If you have installed a satellite dish or TV aerial, please safely remove it as soon as possible. If you are unable to safely remove your dish, our contractor will remove them and return them to you instead.

If you have a satellite dish and this is currently your only form of TV signal you will still be able to receive Freeview channels, digital radio, and subscription services from Sky. You can access these through an aerial box installed in your property by the council, which looks like the photo above.

If you do not have this box and wish to have one installed, or if you already have the box fitted but think it is not working correctly, please email meplanprog@bristol.gov.uk.

Please note that if you do not have this box installed or your aerial box is faulty you will lose your tv signal once your dish is removed.
