Season's greetings

I hope you all manage to get some quality time away from work over the festive period. I'd like to thank you for your continued support with my ventures to help make life easier for practitioners in the FE, skills and training sector.

My website will still be operational over the festive period if you wish to access: information; videos; books; online courses & CPD and resources.
Qualification developments

Or rather a lack of developments!

The initial teacher training qualifications (AET/CET/DET, assessment and quality assurance) are due to be updated, for implementation from September next year.  However, there is no news yet.

When I hear something, I will add it to this page of my website.

Coming soon:
50 Assessment Approaches

A practical guide for assessors - new or existing. It's the latest edition to the '50' series

Written by Sharron Mansell, edited by me, and illustrated by Andrew Hampel.

Available from April.

  • aimed at any educational setting with learners of any age
  • readable, relevant and easy to understand
  • provides valuable ideas and tips for new and experienced teachers and assessors
  • uses simple language to explain each assessment approach
  • puts theory into practice
  • can help promote outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.

Online CPD

In association with KMF Training, I am pleased to announce that more new online CPD modules are now available for external quality assurance, as well as assessment and internal quality assurance.

All modules are only £18 each -  ideal for your CPD.
  • You can work at your own pace, and stop and start when you wish via a secure online system, automatically saving your work as you progress.
  • Each module will take between 1-3 hours to complete depending on the content and how fast you work.
  • The content is short, sharp, clear and concise - just like my books and resources.
  • The modules include text, animations (narrated by me), videos, downloadable resources, activities, a quiz, and a reading & website list.
  • You will have access to an exclusive LinkedIn group to ask questions and discuss topics with others, as well as myself and Chris from KMF Training.
  • You will gain a record of achievement upon completion of each module.
If you've taken a module, please click here to give feedback.

CPD modules for teaching and training will be available next year.
CPD for your staff

If your organisation would like to put staff through the modules as CPD, we can offer a discounted 'staff package'.
Ideal for staff to update from D32/33/34 or A1/V1.

New service for centres

If you are an accredited centre which offers the assessment and quality assurance units, your learners could work through the online modules to save you time delivering the course content.

Learners just need to be registered with the awarding organisation you use, and complete assessments and observations with your centre.

This service will also be available for the AET/CET/DET mandatory units in the new year.

All the theoretical content is covered, learners just need to put it into practice and be assessed through your centre.
