Maintaining your CPD

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the means by which you can maintain and improve your skills, knowledge and understanding which should have a positive impact upon your practice.

If you are in education, CPD should relate not only to teaching, learning and assessment practices, but also to changes in education policies as well as your specialist subject. This is known as being a ‘dual professional’. You are a professional teacher and assessor as well as a professional in the subject you teach and assess.

Some ideas to help you maintain your CPD can be found by clicking here, where you will also find a list of useful websites.

CPD event in Leeds on 9th June 2017

I am organising a CPD event with Hilary Read on June 9th in central Leeds if you would like to attend.

It would be good to meet you! It's only £125 and you will get lots of freebies including a copy of Hilary's and my book (value £35).

Click here for further details and to reserve your place.

Possible changes to the teaching, assessment and quality assurance qualifications

Do you offer the above? If so, you might want to check if your awarding organisation (AO) will continue to offer them when the extension date of July 2018 ends.

If you would like to change to another AO, I am happy to recommend Training Qualifications UK (TQUK). Their staff are friendly, helpful, supportive and committed to giving a quality service.

TQUK will continue to offer teaching, assessment and quality assurance qualifications after July 2018, and are also exploring options as an End Point Assessor for the Learning and Development trailblazers.

A bonus of being with TQUK is that you need never waste a registration fee again. You can re-use your registration fees for withdrawn learners with your future learners.

To discuss this in more detail, contact Tom Costigan on 03333 583344 or by e-mailing tom.costigan@tquk.org

The latest information from the Education and Training Foundation regarding the changes after July 2018 can be found by clicking here.
