It's official - we're one of the UK's 'prettiest country pubs'!  

Well, who are we to argue?! Last month, a national holiday rental company analysed Instagram hashtag data for more than 200 country pubs across the UK. They recorded how many times each place had been described as 'beautiful' in reputable publications over the last two years and The Punch Bowl was in the Top 3! Kendal Mountain Festival - 16th-19th November

The historic market town of Kendal, just over five miles from The Punch Bowl, is characterised by 'yards' (lanes or ginnels), dating back to the 18th century where you'll find lots of individual shops to explore. It's also - for one action-packed weekend in November - home of the UK's biggest adventure festival.

This year's Kendal Mountain Festival runs from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th November and has a packed programme of events and speakers including celebrated British Olympian cyclist, Sir Bradley Wiggins taking to the stage with his son, Ben, the Junior Track Cycling World Champion. The Festival is renowned for premiering and screening some of the world's greatest outdoor feature films such as 'Touching The Void' and '14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible' and being a launchpad for exciting new talent with its International Film Competition.
