Covid-19 update

Protect yourself, your loved ones and help protect our NHS hospitals and staff from the Covid-19 Omicron variant by booking a booster jab. Check out if you’re eligible and get your booster here:

If you aren’t already vaccinated, or have only had one jab so far, please also get yourself booked in as soon as you can.

Christmas services

We will close for our festive break from 2pm on Friday 24 December until Tuesday 4 January.

There’s lots of information about emergency support and our services over the Christmas break on our website at:

Leisure centre festive opening hours

The Christmas opening hours for our leisure centres are on the Better UK website – this is the best place to go for information on how the centres are managing Covid safety, and for details on any changes to that might become necessary should government guidelines on the pandemic change.

Support for those affected by domestic abuse

If your partner, a family member, or a friend often twists your words, emotions or experiences against you, they could be trying to ‘gaslight’ you. This is a form of coercion and control, and is a form of domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse has increased during the pandemic and can become more of an issue at this time of year – if you have any worries, you can call Oxfordshire Domestic Abuse Service on 0800 731 0055 in total confidence, or you can call the 24hr National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 200 0247.

If you would prefer, you can also email or visit

And finally

As this is the last South and Vale news this year, we’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
