Support for Ukraine

We’re working really hard with our partner organisations across Oxfordshire to provide support for any Ukrainian refugees that arrive in our districts along with  help and guidance for their host families.

We’ve set up a Support for Ukraine webpage that provides all the information on how you can support the various organisations that are helping those still in Ukraine with food, water, medicines and shelter during the conflict.

£150 ‘rebate’ to help with energy bills

Most households in council tax bands A-D will be receiving a £150 government ‘rebate’ to help with rising energy bills.

We’re currently working hard to arrange your £150 payments – here’s how we’ll do this:
  • households that pay their council tax by direct debit – should receive the £150 directly into their bank account.  We hope to make these payments by the end of the month.
  • households that aren’t on our direct debit scheme – will receive theirs once they have confirmed their bank details with us, which will take longer as we need to write to them to do this.
You can get your £150 payment sooner if you sign up to pay by Direct Debit now, head our council tax webpage

You can keep up to date on how we’re doing on the payments via our website. We’d ask you to please refrain from contacting us to chase the ‘rebate’ payment as this will help us ensure everyone eligible receives their payments more quickly. Thank you for your understanding.

Community Governance Review – have your say

You can now comment on proposed changes that could affect how your local area is governed.

We are carrying out a Community Governance Review, which involves reviewing arrangements like parish boundary areas, ward areas, the number of councillors, and local electoral arrangements. We do this review every four years.

Head to the Community Governance Review page on our website to find out more.

The consultation is now open and closes at midday on 29 April.

Cornerstone reopens

We’re pleased to announce that Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot has recently reopened with a great line-up of acts set to wow audiences this Spring.  While it’s been closed for maintenance, we have worked hard to bring some exciting acts for children and adults, including comedies, interactive family shows and a 60s music show.  To find out more and to book your tickets visit the Cornerstone website
