This week, we're focusing on our Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) scheme, currently open for applications from rural businesses in South and Vale. Further details can be found below.

We're also highlighting the next Thame Business Breakfast event, where we'll be talking through our REPF scheme, plus The King's Awards for Enterprise, Vale of White Horse District Council's Climate Action Fund, the Love Your Local Market 2024 campaign, the Women in Innovation Awards and OxLEP's CXO Masterclass in Customer Experience.

The second round of the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) is now open for applications from South and Vale based organisations.

REPF offers up to £75,000 of capital funding for projects that help to improve productivity and strengthen the rural economy and rural communities.

Funding categories are:
  • Capital grants for small scale investment in micro and small enterprises in rural areas
  • Capital grants for growing the local social economy and supporting innovation
  • Capital grants for investment in capacity building and infrastructure support for local civil society and community groups

The application window will close at midday on Monday 1 July.

We've recently opened a second round of the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) and are inviting organisations based in South and Vale to apply for grant funding.

To help you get started, we've teamed up with Thame Town Council to host a free, in-person event on the scheme, with details on how to apply, the types of projects that can be awarded funding and the amount you can apply for.

The King's Awards for Enterprise

Organisations are invited to apply for The King's Awards for Enterprise 2025. The Awards are free to enter and you can apply for more than one category.

Categories include:

  • innovation
  • international trade
  • sustainable development
  • promoting opportunity through social mobility.
If you receive an award, you’ll be:
  • invited to a Royal reception
  • presented with the award at your company by one of The King’s representatives
  • able to fly The King’s Awards flag at your main office, and use the emblem on your marketing materials (for example, on your packaging, advertisements, stationery and website)
  • given a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy.

The application window will close at 1pm on 12 September. Enter via the official webpage.
Climate Action Fund 2024/2025 – now open

Applications are now open for Vale of White Horse District Council's Climate Action Fund, aimed at projects that help to tackle climate change and increase people’s awareness and knowledge of the climate emergency.

Non-profit community organisations, whose primary purpose is to benefit the residents of Vale of White Horse, and town and parish councils are invited to apply. Grants from £250 to £10,000 are available per project, with a total of £100,000 available this year.

The work could focus on areas such as the natural environment, energy, waste and consumption, or transport and travel.

Organisations that receive funding will also have the opportunity to network with other grant recipients.

The deadline for applications is Friday 28 June.

Love Your Local Market 2024

Taking place until Saturday 1 June, the 2024 Love Your Local Market campaign celebrates the heart of local communities through vibrant markets, exciting promotions, new business initiatives and engaging local participation.

Now in its thirteenth year, NABMA's Love Your Local Market campaign has been embraced by 24 countries. The campaign aims to elevate the profile of markets across the UK, highlighting the vital role of markets within local communities and urging people to cherish and support their local markets.

Estimates reveal that the campaign has provided over 15,000 individuals with the opportunity to immerse themselves in market trading, catalysing the creation of at least 1,500 new businesses. 

It is free to register to take part. You can promote your market with banners, flags and posters, and download digital assets to make the most of the campaign.

Apply for the Women in Innovation Awards

Women within UK registered micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply for this year's Innovate UK's Women in Innovation Awards.

The aim of this competition is to fund and support a diverse portfolio of women who are:
  • role models for women from all backgrounds
  • from regions across the UK
  • solving a range of pressing societal, environmental and economic challenges
  • in a variety of innovation areas.
The winners will receive a £75,000 grant and bespoke business support. 

The competition closes for entries at 11am on Wednesday 10 July.

OxLEP's CXO Masterclass in Customer Experience

Are you maximising customer experience to deliver value for your business?

Every CXO needs to be customer aware and focused. OxLEP's CXO masterclass will help you to develop the skills you need to maximise your customer experience.
