Find the right support for your business

The Government's Business.gov.uk website acts as the central government portal designed to help UK businesses at every stage - from startup to scale-up - by delivering expert advice, tools and support schemes.

Key topics include:

  • Starting a business
  • Running and growing a business
  • Selling overseas from the UK
  • Investing and expanding in the UK.
Users can also speak to experts, locate business networks and select finance options and government-backed schemes to help you start or grow your business.

Late payments: tackling poor payment practices

The Department for Business & Trade is seeking views on legislative measures which address late, long and disputed business-to-business payments, and the use of retention clauses in construction contracts.

The proposals aim to improve cash flow through supply chains and support small businesses with payment disputes.

Views are welcomed from businesses, trade representative organisations, member organisations and interested parties to the proposals.

Federated Hermes secures £376 million financing for Milton Park

MEPC’s parent company, Federated Hermes, has announced the completion of a £376 million financing deal for Milton Park.

The new financing replaces the previous £200 million mortgage loan with Barings and will ensure Milton Park can continue to provide high-quality, flexible spaces for companies of all sizes.

The financing was led by Barings Real Estate with support from HSBC UK, reflecting continued confidence from global lenders in Milton Park as a key centre for innovation and research.

Finding space for your socially impactful business

As part of a series of training sessions to promote and support social enterprises in South and Vale, OSEP and MakeSpace Oxford are running a free webinar on finding space for your socially impactful business.

Calling Creative Industries - Help Shape Southern Oxfordshire's Cultural Strategy

South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are holding a Southern Oxfordshire Heritage, Culture & Creative Industries Symposium to gain feedback from local businesses, particularly those from the creative industries sector, on their priorities before they're shared with the wider community in early 2026.
