Welcome

I hope you are all staying safe and well during these unprecedented times. I know that many of you work in the NHS; are carers; or are key/essential workers. I would like to thank you all for everything you are doing to get us through this challenging situation we all find ourselves in.

I have been busy with a few new projects, so this newsletter is to let you know about them, along with an update of what's happening in our sector.

My website is still operational if you wish to access: information; videos; books; online courses & CPD and resources.
Update

Covid 19 - if you have learners who haven't been able to complete the required number of observations, you can download information from the Education and Training Foundation to help ensure they will not be disadvantaged. This relates to learners who were registered prior to 10th March 2020.

The initial teacher training qualifications (AET/CET/DET, assessment and quality assurance) were due to be updated for this September. They have now been extended for learner registrations until July 2021.

Ofqual have issued an update regarding awarding vocational and technical qualifications due to the cancellation of exams.

If you have any questions regarding apprenticeship EQA/EPA, you can hopefully find answers here.

If you have any general questions, please ask them in this LinkedIn group which I co-host.

The Education and Training Foundation have lots of online courses and support for teaching online here. Many are free. They also have a guide to support remote working.

Now available: 50 Assessment Approaches

A practical guide for assessors - new or existing - is now available. It's the latest edition to the '50' series

Written by Sharron Mansell, edited by me, and illustrated by Andrew Hampel.

A book for Quality Improvement & Quality Assurance is currently being written.

More new online CPD modules

In association with KMF Training, I am pleased to announce that new online CPD modules are now available for teaching and training.

They are ideal if you want to know what the role involves, if you need to update your knowledge, or to supplement your studies towards the Award, Certificate or Diploma in Education and Training.

The Award in Education and Training is now available as an online course. I'm pleased to collaborate with KMF Training who will offer this qualification.
